Dr. Asebe Regassa serves as OSA president (2022-2023) and served as president-elect from August 2021 – July 2022. Since July 2020, Dr. Asebe works as a senior researcher and teaching fellow at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He researches on multinational federalism, indigenous peoples’ rights, displacement, and resource dispossession with a focus on the Horn of Africa. Among his publications, his articles on gold mining, land dispossession, nature conservation, and conflict in Oromia highlight systemic violence perpetrated against the Oromo under successive regimes in Ethiopia.
